make a pantone butterfly garland

I am self-taught at crochet – and I’ll probably never tire of saying that, unfortunately 😉 I haven’t been crocheting lately but here’s something that’s awakened the desire to. It’s just lovely, don’t you think?

I’ve made lots of butterflies lately, including a custom order colourful butterfly garland for someone special. I had a lovely time playing around with colour combinations, and as I did, fell in love with the idea of creating these Pantone swatch inspired ones. Because who doesn’t love drooling over beautiful Pantone colours?

I have made them before here, but the pattern I used seems to have disappeared from the internet. Luckily I had a couple of screen shots on my phone from when I first made them.  I thought I’d pop the pattern up here in case you want to make some too? They are pretty easy and would be suitable for beginners.

  1. I’m here now! I think now I’m feeling overly excited and I don’t know why. But anyways, I just wanted to say, this post is amazing! The images you have here are very pretty and simple but delicate! You’re a self-taught crotchet person and I’m jealous! I tried it once and then got really confused! I stopped because I just didn’t know how to do it. Yes, I did watch Youtube to follow but it didn’t work for me unfortunately. But the butterflies are amazing. I know you said comment on the original, but just wanted to say it here 🙂 You have such great talent if you’re self-taught for crochet! Well done! I’d love to see some of your work too!!

    1. Thank you so much. I appreciate your kind words 🙂

I learned crochet from a book, I was someplace where there was no internet connection and I think I was forced to learn it because there was just nothing else to do!

And thanks again, maybe I will feature something crochet-ed on here sometime 🙂
