Candy Cascade

And she’s done! Fortunately, my husband was able to buy additional skeins of the same yarn on a recent trip to Singapore 🙂

My daughter was initially ambivalent about it, the skirt does feel like it looks – frilly and bulky. But she got used to it after a while 😀 The challenge is that the drawstring type of belt loosens up while she’s active so I might have to experiment with something sturdier.

Meanwhile, I’m planning to make one for myself in a single color, maybe black or gray or deep red. This would be lovely worn over black leggings 🙂 As well, it is rather bulky and definitely has some weight, so I might experiment with lighter yarn next time.

Here’s the pattern link if you’re interested.

How about you? What loveliness are you crocheting?

    1. Wow, you got me there. That’s a huge compliment 🙂 I don’t see myself as being on a selling level yet but … you’ve got me thinking 😀 ❤

    1. Thank you Emzlee 🙂 Crochet is pretty easy to learn and is a lot of fun. You can create trendy pieces for your own use that nobody else has (or can get) 😉

  1. I think the skirt and the belt is unique and darling. I understand your concern about the best on an active youngster. I don’t crochet, but I wonder if an adjustable (with hooks or buttons) 1″ tape waistband could be sewn to the inside. Hmm…

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂 I’m really still a beginner at crochet, still so many things to learn. But I enjoy it so much ❤

I'd also like to be able to make a slouchy hat. But using a round loom is something new to me. (Somehow the loombands craze comes to mind). Maybe I should look into that too 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Ginny 🙂

In the meantime we’ve found out that the tie holds much better if placed in the front instead of on the side. It allows the skirt to sit higher on the waist that way. I also think that a cord could indeed be a better alternative, and easier for me to make as I still have some yarn left over 🙂 Let’s give that a try!
