Macaques & Mittens

macaquemacaque 2

As a tribe of naughty macaques continue to pillage our rubbish bins daily — I’m sorry, I tried to get better pictures but they’re quick and don’t want their criminal faces circulating on the net — I look up to my most recent batch of laundry and giggle

on the hangers
variety, where are you? šŸ˜„

I had pretty pink and angelic white in mind when we decided to start buying B3’s baby stuff.Ā  I was armed with a list, with exact quantities specified.

So what happened between that and the (excessive number of) “uniform” pieces that I now have? And no, I was not planning on opening a baby clothing store myself!

Okay well ….

šŸŒø the store was hot and stuffy, we were the only customers at the time which meant all 3 (4? I dared not look) sales ladies plus the cashier were following us around. (Is it just me or do you also feel rushed along when sales ladies do this? šŸ™„)

šŸŒø every clothing meant for newborns come in that same carnival print

šŸŒø I saw some pinks and whites but each time I’d pick one up a chorus of “besar! besar!” (too big – for a newborn) would freeze my hand mid-air

šŸŒø turns out you couldn’t buy just 1 or 2 of each style (except for the onesies),Ā  all the rest come in packs of 6

Look, even the swaddle blankets (top right) come in a similar pattern. I swear I’m going to have a hard time finding my baby amidst all those bears and balloons and what-nots! šŸ¤£ The only things I got right according to my preferred color scheme were the mittens and booties, but now they are off-scheme šŸ˜†

Oh well, I don’t think B3 will actually care. Might even like it!

So what made YOU smile this week? šŸ™‚

  1. I think those baby clothes look fun. And the new baby will only be wearing them a short while anyway so perhaps you can find a more sedate set of clothing for him/her to grow into later on!

    1. LOL! Thanks. “Sedate” was indeed what I was looking for originally šŸ˜… Meanwhile however, I have 30 pieces total in this print and I find myself alternating between fits of laughter to making long faces. Can’t figure out if it’s the number of items or the print … but probably the combination of both šŸ¤£

  2. Such cute baby clothes! ā¤ Macaques! When we lived in a house in Kuala Lumpur, they did exactly the same thing. In the end my parents decided that living in a house was not for us and we moved into an apartment. The monkeys there were at a safer distance, by the jungle behind the pool area, far from our apartment šŸ™‚

    1. I understand the need to escape! These monkeys leave no rubbish bin unturned and leave everything scattered about on the streets. Fortunately they’ve hired some cleaners to deal with the aftermath.
