With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality.

When do you feel most connected with others?

Whenever I’m sharing a problem, a concern or anything that’s not positive or “happy” and I am listened to and acknowledged.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?

Oh, I already have just earlier this week πŸ˜€ Oil pulling. And it’s mind-blowing! πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘

What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week?

Hmmm … I have to think about this. Not in the mood for any adventures as I’ve been experiencing some insomnia and muscle soreness these past few days.

But how about an armchair adventure? πŸ™‚ I do have one in mind πŸ™‚

I really enjoy medieval mysteries and since I was looking to resurrect my reading habit I decided to download some ebooks on my Kindle. I’ve also found some really good Celtic/medieval music on YouTube and I’m thinking of playing medieval music while immersing myself in the stories. Can you spell awesome?! Hey! ❀ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

List at least of things or events that changed your Life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person?

  1. meeting my husband
  2. getting married
  3. becoming a mom
  4. quitting the corporate world
  5. being an expat SAHM and discovering things about myself I never had the time to [discover] before

Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~

The patience and love my little family has given me in light of my “meltdown” πŸ™‚ As well as the support and encouragement coming from YOU! ❀ ❀ ❀

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β

Knitting lessons! Yay! πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Hobbiton-NewZealand

Name one thing not many people know about you.

Not many people know that I am an introvert. Apparently, I come across as a gregarious, smiley, bubbly person. So when I tell them I have a bias for solitary activities, or that groups and crowds (and even loud, aggressive people) drain me, it’s more often a surprise to them than not.

If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?

Make that money grow through day trading and with its earnings fly off to Hobbiton and pretend that I’m a Sindarin Elf (mayhaps Tauriel) visiting The Shire 😎 😎

Where do you hide junk when people come over?

Hmmm … I usually don’t have junk because I like to tidy and organize. But if it so happens that there’s some when you come over then just don’t mind it πŸ™‚ A little random disorganization is sexy πŸ˜‰

Complete this sentence: Β I want to learn more about …

Crocheting clothes, especially shaping. And Irish crochet. And cooking. And lots of other random stuff.

Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~

I am always grateful that my family is together and that we’re healthy and safe.I’m also grateful the rains have started to come back πŸ™‚

Rainy days remind me of when I still used to work and would wish I was cozy at home instead XD In other words, rainy days make me feel grateful I am able to stay at home πŸ˜€

And of course, this πŸ™‚

~ and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β

Finishing crochet WIPs so I can move on to other projects πŸ™‚ I’m specifically looking forward to buying more of that local polyester yarn for some colorwork projects I have in mind. And some cherry pie with coffee …. mmmmmmm ❀ ❀ ❀

by the sea

Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?

Plain water. Ice cold, since Indonesia is so hot! XD

What made you feel good this past week?

Losing a little more weight and seeing more muscle tone through consistent exercise πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

When you’re alone at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?

50% slippers, 50% barefoot. Because it’s just so hot! XD XD

Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?

Whaaaa?!? It’s like I had this question coming XD Well, how hot and how cold? XD

Okay seriously, I think I’d lean towards hot because I love sunny days.

Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~

I’m still feeling very grateful for this.

~ and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

It’s gonna be April – we’re inching closer to a much anticipated short trip we’re taking by month-end. (Yay!)Β  I’d tell you all about it but not right now, I might jinx it. LOL! πŸ˜‰

Back To Regular Programming

Hello sunshine people! Mari kita kopi (let’s have coffee) πŸ™‚

As I’m savoring the aroma of my morning cup (yes, I’m back at this vice) I feel grateful I’m back to “regular programming“. Last week was so hectic and topsy turvy that I feel this moment of going back to normal deserves its own blog post.

There’s so much catching up to do but first – What do you think about 2016 being the year of the monkey? Is there something remarkable about that for you?

I’m actually quite stoked that 2016 is the year of the monkey. I was not born during the year of the monkey, nor am I into the Chinese Zodiac. But for some reason, the playful monkey resonates with me (notice this blog’s header?). I guess it’s because this is how I want to be in 2016 and maybe beyond – fun, loving, cheerful and energetic.

I still have to muse some more on these qualities and how I might express/embody them but for now – I’m just glad to be back with you guys ❀ πŸ˜€

Feel-Good Fridays, Singapore

Anticipation Makes Even the Small Things Exciting

Food Collage 1
Garrett’s cheesecorn – ‘real’ kebabs – Ben & Gerry’s double brownie special ❀️

It goes without saying that one of the best ways to care for yourself is to regularly indulge in things that you enjoy, even those that seem small or insignificant. Your favorite cup of latte might be something that’s easily overlooked as a source of pleasure but, mind you, once that’s taken away from you, you’ll be pining for it.

Food Collage 2
(L to R) Makan Sutra (Glutton’s Bay) my favorite hangout – ‘real’ tuna sandwich – cheese! lots of them! from many different places!

In my part of Indonesia, there aren’t a lot of things to do, see, or even buy. Choices are very limited and, let’s just say I am immensely grateful there’s iHerb & Amazon. However, there are things that you just can’t order online.

I’ve since come to suspect that I might be a city girl at heart. Because while I appreciate the laid back vibe that’s embraced me in Indonesia, at times I also feel like it’s about to suffocate me.

Collage 3
The Different Faces of Paradise: (L to R) a bookstore that sells English books! – yarn shop! – candy shop! πŸ™‚ ❀ ⭐

To ‘resuscitate’ myself, I egg my family on a regular weekend trip to Singapore which is, thank goodness, just a quick ferry ride away. I’d do it every weekend too if I could have it my way but, mini me gets seasick and the hubs is scared I might blow all our savings on all the shiny pretty things I see 🀩🀩

Sentosa Collage
@ Sentosa – the Sentosa Merlion – wax figures of SG PM Lee Kuan Yew & wife at the newly opened Mdme Tussaud’s in Sentosa

Last weekend was one such anticipated sojourn. You might have already noticed from the pictures that most of them are of small, ordinary pleasures.Β  A bag of popcorn? LOL! Who’d have thought, right?

I could cry a river for all the small, ordinary things I miss but instead, I schedule a weekend with my family in Singapore and we all have a blast. It’s like getting yourself a care-package that’s bursting at the seams with stuff that make you smile πŸ™‚
