After laboring on the streets for challenge #2 I’m only glad to move on to challenge #3 with the subject of water and the assignment of exploring vertical and horizontal orientation.
Using the right orientation for your photos is actually a very pragmatic tip to keep in mind because it can help convey the message more effectively. On thinking about it, I realized I have a strong bias for horizontal pictures, as evidenced by those I use on this blog, but I’ve never really given it any thought until this course.
Remembering that I have a lot of pictures of water in my files and wanting to check if I had taken any vertical shots at all, I came up with this:
And then a horizontal version:
Both were taken at the same time, and obviously with the same subject: water my feet π€£ (And between you and me, I think both orientations work just fine π).
Well what do you think of that? I learned something new about myself today – I really like my feet! I have more pictures of them, if you want. No? Okay, your loss ππ
Happy Hump-day everyone!π It’s time for a bit of fun-on-the-blog.
Please excuse the Nacho Libre gifs I’m using. I just really β€οΈ that movie, it never fails to make me laugh or feel better. Have you seen it? π I like to imitate the way Nacho & Esqueleto talk, never fails to elicit laughs!Β π€£
Anyway, here are my answers to this week’s Share Your World blog prompt:
If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
OMG, if this were any easier I’d burst into shards of diamond …. this someone would do the cooking, of course! π I’m not that fond of cooking to begin with and now with a 2 month old I can’t even spell coooking.
If you were to move and your home came fully furnished with everything you ever wanted, list at least three things from your old house you wish to retain?
Nothing. If the new house has everything I ever wanted then I’d want everything to be new. “New” represents a clean slate for me, a chance to do everything all over again and better this time. It also means everything is still in good working condition, everything is still squeaky clean, fresh smelling and nice looking … Aahhh, the rush of endless possibilities and the pleasure of shiny, oil/dust/scratch free surfaces π
That said I realize I’m not really attached to any one thing I own right now. I only need my family, and then my phone, my Kindle and my laptop because these things hold pictures. If all pictures were in a thumb drive, then that thumb drive would be all I wanted to take along with me.Β Unless the goal was to save money then yes, I’d bring as many stuff as I could because I don’t like waste.
Anyhoot …
What calms you down?
Walking. In circles. Preferably with nobody within earshot so they can’t hear the occasional word that escapes from my mouth or see the facial expressions I make as I mentally argue with myself about whatever it is that’s upset me.
Crazy, huh? But that’s me π
Oh, and that’s my brother too. Must be genetics.
He snaps his fingers while at it.
Ooppss … tmi! π
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Β Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.Β
School break started this week and that means my eldest is home with me.
This also means I get to sleep past 6 a.m. (I still prepare lunch for her on schooldays). And have someone to talk to during the day. And get some help getting things done around the house. And maybe we can take a walk outside later …
Yeah, I really like it that she’s home with me βΊοΈ
Hellooooo! π What? You didn’t think I’d let the topsy-turvy condition of my new abode keep me from blogging, did you? π Truth be told, it’s a bit awkward writing this post coz I can’t find my mouse, along with a lot of other things. Every day I hear “mommy, where’s my ….?” several times – I feel so relevant and indispensable! XD
But today I felt like saying “hi!” (don’t I just β€ you so!) by way of an SYW post so, here we go:
With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world which may not always match our reality.
If you were given a boat or yacht today, what would you name it? Β (You can always sell the yacht later)
Since yesterday I’ve been picking my brains about this and I am nowhere near settling on a name. What a difficult question this is! XD
Come to think of it, since settling on a name is so difficult, I probably won’t sell it XD
Which of Snow Whiteβs 7 dwarfs describes you best? Β (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey) Plus what would the 8th dwarfβs name be?
Definitely Dopey. I like to be the crazy-silly one in the group although at times I have a little Grumpy and Doc in me too β€
The 8th dwarf’s name would definitely be Sassy.
Oooh, maybe I’d name the yacht Sassy or Dopey. Sassy Dopey? (I don’t think the husband would approve) XD XD
Name a song or two which are included on the soundtrack to your life?
I love this question! I have music on almost all the time π But this is quite difficult to decide on though … hmmm. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with music though so, just off the top of my head these two here always make me stop whatever I’m doing and dance:
Incidentally, these 2 songs are mashed-up in my running playlist and I find myself going back to it over and over again so … β€ β€
Complete this sentence: Β I like watchingβ¦
The night sky. I NEVER tire of it. EVER.
Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~
Easy! π We moved house!
and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Easy as well! Getting organized and being able to find things intuitively π
Now what are YOUR answers? Let me know in the comment section below β€
Happy start of a brand new month everyone!!! We’re halfway through 2016 already – whoa that’s fast!

Whatβs your most memorable (good or bad) airplane flight?
Oh, I already mentioned this here π But for those of you who just arrived: it was a flight home from LA during which I conceived of this blog. Also, I had just read an article about how polluted oxygen really is on airplanes, especially ones that travel long distance. So I was pondering on that as well and was really all the more miserable for it π£ π£
How many bones, if any, have you broken?
None so far! Wee! XD XD
If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? (guest can be dead, alive, famous or someone you just know)
(cackles in glee) This part is FUN!!! π π
My first 3 guests would be personifications of beauty, brains and brawns, that way I give my audience both mental and visual stimulation. (Why, we could talk about the benefits of olive oil on hair toΒ strategizing about battle!) XD XD
1.Β Helen of Troy. I really want to see the face that launched a thousand ships in person. How did she do it? Any beauty/personality secrets we might benefit from? And, how was it to be a swan? Does she have a book deal for this juicy story yet?
2.Β Cleopatra. I’ve read that she wasn’t really that beautiful but, anyone who can make an emperor fall in love by just rolling out of a carpet is a force to be reckoned with. I think it would be nice to pick her brain about shock marketing.
3.Β The Greek Goddess Athena. She’s got such an impressive resume. She’s intelligent, temperamental, vain. A fierce protector who was also generous, compassionate, and knew how to rock an owl as a mascot. She’s allowed to wield Zeus’ thunderbolt as well. She’s the only girl I need on my team to beat Taylor Swift’s girl-squad.
Make a Currently List: What are you reading, watching, listening to, eating, needing, wanting, and missing right now?
Reading:Β The Fallen Princess (Gareth & Gwen Medieval Mystery Series)
Watching: CNN
Listening To: The Fitness Marshall Playlist
Eating: Nutella!
Needing / Wanting:Β a place to call home
Missing: the ability to go out and explore on my own without looking like a clueless foreigner π π π
Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~
Hmmmm, let’s see… Oh, I know! I’m grateful for a quick day-trip to Singapore during which we were able to indulge in metropolitan buzz, much anticipated treats and additional knitting supplies for me π π
and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
It’s day 3, and the final entry for this challenge π In true TGIF fashion I’ve chosen to highlight my love for the silly and humorous today and for me no other ‘thing’ (or group of things?) embodies this better than The Minions β€ β€
So please excuse me if I wallow in the shallow for this post – it’s all for a good laugh or, at least the promise of a smile on your face π
There are tonnes of funny Minion quotes out there I truly had trouble choosing. But the ones in this post also give you a glimpse into my personality so I think I’m good π

If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts? Β Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?
I fill 2 drinking glasses with water and look through those! LOL! XD
I am using both – I’m nearsighted and my left is also astigmatic. I use contacts during the day because I find glasses cumbersome and would make my workouts un-enjoyable. I wear my glasses in the evenings when all the day’s chores are done. I’m planning to have laser surgery done sometime in the future but, still reading up on that. My contacts are okay for now, sometimes I wear different colors just to play it up π
If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?
Oooooh, this is a toughie. I Googled traffic signs but the only ones that spoke to me are the funny ones! XD XD But I do love a pun when you least expect it XD
I’m gonna have to pass on this one, folks! βοΈ βοΈ
Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?
Easy. Looking back I enjoyed how simple everything was: I knew what was expected, there was regular feedback on performance, making friends came naturally, there were holidays and breaks to unwind and take stock.
I enjoyed learning new things – if you didn’t like something it was only for a term or so, so no biggie. It was fun to compete for the honor roll π There were fun clubs to join – I was always on the newsletter team π The start of a new school year was always exciting, full of promise. New notebooks, pencils, shoes, oh my! XD
Fun mem’ries I have …. (daydreams) …
Would you rather take a 1 or 2 week vacation with an organized tour or take a cruise of your choice?
I think there are advantages to both but I’m leaning towards an organized tour especially if it’s a first time visit. An organized tour allows you the freedom of anticipation, all you need to do is show up. If I were to take a cruise of my own choice that would mean lots of research and planning and this can get stressful.
Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~
I discovered 2 new recipes that the hubs and daughter love! Pan-grilled chicken with some fancy herbs and spices, and beef curry. Highest praises to the genius who invented ready-mixes!!! XD XD
~ and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β
An overnight stay in Singapore π Looking forward to the shopping break in routine XD XD
