Ooh! It’s SYW time again 😀 Fun questions these are, as always! ❤

With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

As a receptionist/telephone operator for an international company that processed and supplied carrageenan.

What I remember most from the time is that I liked to imitate foreign callers with very thick accents, especially those that were already familiar to us all. During down times, I’d go to a vacant conference room, call the main trunk line and do my impressions XD I was never good enough to not be found out after a few lines, but good enough to make the operator laugh out loud 👍 👍

It was only a summer job though and my friend and I would end the employment by the time university classes would resume. But by then we’d have amassed enough money to buy what was “in” at the time 😎 😎 So, good mem’ries there 😀

What is your favorite month of the year?

December because of Christmas ❤ ❤ ❤ Ho-Ho-Ho!

What three things in nature do you find most beautiful?

Wide open sky – the moon at any stage – flowers – forests – bodies of water – butterflies and dragonflies – oh, that’s more than 3! XD

List at least five of your favorite spices? (excluding salt and pepper)

• garlic
• ginger
• onion
• any chilli (must have chilli!)
• more to come as I improve and expand my cooking skills 😉

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week ~

Oh snap! I don’t remember anything that’s happened last week! And I’m, not even old yet XD XD Well then I guess I’ll just have to give a general answer 😉

• good health
• family that’s together and healthy
• missing coffee so much but being able to withstand the craving for another week
• these strong Indonesian rains that surprise me with their feistiness – they come on so suddenly all fast and furious and then just like that, the sun is shining down on you again like nothing’s happened
• having discovered oil-pulling, because really, it’s mind blowing

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? 

Making good progress on my goals and sharing them with you 😀

Feel Good Friday

Feeling good is stopping to listen to rain falling hard on rooftops, seeing and feeling raindrops while standing at the balcony listening to mad thunder and smelling the sweet scent of warm earth as it welcomes heaven’s blessings ❤

Good Food, Fun Company & A Slice of Beautiful Indonesia

My ladies took me out to a corner of paradise again – delectable food, sassy friends, warm sunshine and vibrant colors all around.  I loved it! ❤

A word of advice when eating Indonesian food ~ despite the fact that it’s gonna burn your tongue, just have something at hand to wipe the snot & the sweat off XD Indo food is irresistibly delicious in an exotic, novel way. While I’m here I’ve made it a point to train my tongue to adjust to higher levels of spicy-ness because the ‘torture’ is worth it! 😀

And then there were the beckoning Riau Islands ….

Share Your World 2015 Week 50

Favorite thing to photograph? Write? Or Cook?

Photograph = nature and outdoors. Although I only yet photograph with my iPhone, I hope I can buy myself a decent camera for Christmas because I’d really like to tote one around and call it official 😀

Write = meanderings of my mind. It helps me put things in perspective.

Cook = anything quick and which only requires boiled water XD

Did you like swinging as a child? Do you still get excited when you see a swing? 

You know, come to think of it I have yet to find a swing that is empty upon sight but is not broken 😐 Until now. Or when it’s empty and not broken you most likely have another child/adult racing against you to get to it first. And of course, the other child/adult gets to it first because I’m just gracious like that (read: grrrrr!).

Anyhoot, when I was a child, I sure loved to swing, but! There would always be a line or some pecking order to observe that would be too much for my impatient nature. To the slides then …

(You can you see how swings are kinda traumatic for me here) XD

What has surprised you about blogging?

The fact that the more I put myself out there the more ‘likes’ and followers I get 😀 I’ve been reading some old posts of mine and it’s remarkable how more open I am at this point than from when I started. The more genuine, the more ‘me’ I am (which I initially thought wasn’t really that interesting) the warmer the reception ❤

List at least five favorite desserts.

1. Chocolate. Let’s make it dark for a healthier option 🙂
2. Cheesecake.
3. Ice cream.
4. A blended coffee drink. Preferably with chocolate chips & a thick foam of whipped cream.
5. Apple pie or strudel.

Another trip to Malaysia 😀 I really hope we can see some sights this time. It’s another business trip for the hubs but we’re talking about a possible extension so we can roam about. I’ll let you know! 🙂

Share Your World 2015 Week 47

In your native language which letter or character describes you best?  Why?

Hmmm … I’d probably be a question mark followed by an exclamation point 🙄 Why? I’ve been called flamboyant, a bit difficult to please (hello! type A perfectionist!) eccentric, a watered down version of Simon Cowell, colorful, funny and with infectious enthusiasm. I think of myself as complicated, moody but also cheerful and fun-loving.

So yeah, definitely a question mark followed by an exclamation point 🙂

What is your greatest extravagance?

It used to be books and perfume but now that I’m a SAHM I think it’s yarn and fitness wear/home exercise equipment. Then again, being in Indonesia is only temporary, so I suspect that when we move again to perhaps a more permanent place I’m going to develop other extravagances. (Likely!) 😀

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?

I exercised both with gusto in my previous life but nowadays I’m leaning more towards physical exercise.

I prefer to exercise at home since it’s more time and cost efficient. I love to do strength and flexibility exercises. I’ve also recently discovered dance fitness (on YouTube) and I’m having the time of my life! XD On this note, I generally exercise 5 times a week, Mondays through Fridays.

List at least 5 things that make you laugh.

1. Anything comedy – movies, videos, shows, books, comics, and jokes (those that I like!)
2. Hearing my daughter’s laugh as we tickle fight before sleep
3. Coming up with funny voices and silly stories for my daughter’s plushies
4. Singing certain songs in a silly way when home alone – a good example would be Salve Regina from the movie Sister Act
5. Myself XD

I’m always grateful and happy whenever I get new followers, and I got several more last week. (Warm welcome, beautiful people!) I feel so stoked each time somebody grants me entry to their reader.  THANK YOU! ❤

I’ve discovered a 10 day flexibility challenge on YouTube that I’m quite excited to incorporate in my workout routine starting this week 🙂 A good stretch is just, priceless!
