What one new thing (or two) are you excited to learn or explore in 2019? π (We gotta keep levelling up, right?)
Howdy amazing folks! We are moving into the final month of the current year which … likely means that you’re giving a think about the year ahead, right? π And if you haven’t yet then I would love it if you used this prompt to do so π
So that up there is Question #4. Give it some thought and share your answer/s below so we can inspire each other with awesome ideas & positive intentions πππ And don’t worry if it’s not final yet, we’re all entitled to brainstorm! π
… which, when left undone, will “nibble at your sanity” until you finally do/fix it?
And that’s Question # 3 folks!
Is it taking the dog out for a walk? Giving your cat a nice tummy rub? Making up the bed? Tell me in the comments section below ππ π
My answer: cleaning out the dining table.
It’s just a surface that naturally gathers “stuff” during the course of the day, be it earphones or breadcrumbs, and for some reason, I just need to have it wiped clean. Only then can I go on with my day π€
Hello dah-lings! I’m quite excited about this week’s question and right off the bat I want to apologize if in asking it I exclude some people …. Some people who haven’t seen or do not like the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” …. OMG! (I fell off the chair again, picking myself up …) π€
I really, really, really love that movie (and you can tell by the number of emojis I use in this post). I haven’t smiled while watching – in deep appreciation and from start to finish – a movie in such a long time. What an experience. Amazing!
Okay so, as I carefully balance my crown (a paper bag with some yarn in it) and flamboyantly flip a corner of my cape (my baby’s bathtowel, because yes, I’m channeling my inner Freddie Mercury π€π) here’s this week’s question:
What is your one most favorite scene in the movie and why?
My answer is -> that moment when Freddie tells his bandmates that he finally fired his assistant Paul Prenter (Allen Leech) and, when asked on what grounds, simply stated “villainy”.
In any case, my neck is starting to get painful from this “crown” π so now on to you – tell me in the πcomments sectionπwhat your one most favorite scene in the movie was and why.
It’s been a while since I’ve had some sort of Q&A fun on this blog and I miss it. I always have fun answering those simple, get-to-know-yourself questions or self-reflection prompts and I bet many of you do too.
Hmmm, might even make it a regular Friday feature. (Or every other Friday? π€) Oh well, let’s just play it by ear because when you’re taking care of a tiny human, unpredictable‘s the word π€ͺ
So lemme start with this week’s prompt — join me in the comments section, ok? π
Have you done anything [a bit] out of character lately? What was it and why.
My answer to this is a “yes”. And it was sharing my goals for next year with my friends. Why? Because I realized I needed “cheerleaders”.
~ oOo ~
I recently opened an Instagram account because I’m intending to sell my crochet/knitting next year. There are already a few posts of my creations on there and, of course, none of me [because it’s pure business]. I wasn’t planning on telling my friends about it because I’m afraid of what they might think (silly, right? π€). But when we had a group chat earlier this week I went ahead and announced it, even asked them to like every post and follow me π
Originally I thought I could just tell casual acquaintances about my IG and let it grow organically, and then (maybe) tell my friends about it much later. I’ve always been like this. I don’t mean to be secretive, just that I don’t want attention at the start of something, when everything is “iffy”.
But lately I had a thought where I realized perhaps thinking this way is unfair. Perhaps in doing so I was instead cheating myself out of “cheerleaders”. And perhaps what I needed to think was that ifany of them should think negatively, for me to not let it deter me.
I then thought back to times in my life when I had done something without talking to friends about it, and I realized a few wrong moves could have been avoided had I just done so.
To be totally honest with you, there was a full minute-and-a-half of internal struggle going on in my head before I finally told my friends about my IG. And right after that I went “whatdidIdowhatdidIdowhatdidIdooooo???“.Β But now, I’m relaxed and feeling emboldened. Like, okay, now to give them a grrrrreat show! π
~ oOo ~
And that’s me. How about you? Fire up my comments section right away! ππ I’ll be waiting π
With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality.
When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?Β
Pencil! I hadn’t even given this much thought if this question wasn’t asked π I used to collect pencils by the way, in a previous life. There are so many kawaii ones out there with different colored erasers. I just love the smell of new pencils too. Isn’t that weird? β€ π
Whatβs your choice: jigsaw, word, maze or numeric puzzles?
I love word puzzles, but I live for jigsaw. It’s on my bucket list to work on and complete one with a thousand pieces (or more, why not?). But I’ll do this later, when we’ve finally settled in someplace I can finally claim as ‘home’.
Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?Β
Long! I love my hair. I have a lot of it but it’s very fine. It’s got lovely natural waves and it is brave and courageous because it’s stuck with me even through all the toxic styling processes and products I’ve put it through in the past (up until October of last year) that’s made it brittle and dry π π’ π
This year I decided that no type of hair trend or style is going to be as impressive as healthy hair, so I’ve made it my goal to be kind to my hair and nourish it back to life. Maybe I’ll post about it one day π I can tell you this much now though: since I stopped using store bought conditioner, my hair has grown longer and has done so impressively fast! I noticed the difference in just a month’s time. But like I said, maybe this is another blog post altogether π
List five some of your favorite blogs.
Oh no … so many of them and I keep discovering more. I’ll take a rain check on this one, ok?Β π
Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~
One thing that stood out for me last week was that my daughter was awarded Best In Biblical Insight at her school. She didn’t tell us about it and I only knew when another mom sent me a picture of my beautiful angel with the headmistress in some sort of recognition ceremony β€
Part the seas once again Moses, proud mama coming through! XD XD
~ and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β
By the time you read this blog post we will already be in Melbourne, Australia for a week long vacay.Β (Squeal!) π π
I don’t know if I’ll have the time to blog. If I won’t, please excuse me.
I hope you will miss me.
If not, I hope you’ll welcome me back the week after next π β€

If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts? Β Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?
I fill 2 drinking glasses with water and look through those! LOL! XD
I am using both – I’m nearsighted and my left is also astigmatic. I use contacts during the day because I find glasses cumbersome and would make my workouts un-enjoyable. I wear my glasses in the evenings when all the day’s chores are done. I’m planning to have laser surgery done sometime in the future but, still reading up on that. My contacts are okay for now, sometimes I wear different colors just to play it up π
If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?
Oooooh, this is a toughie. I Googled traffic signs but the only ones that spoke to me are the funny ones! XD XD But I do love a pun when you least expect it XD
I’m gonna have to pass on this one, folks! βοΈ βοΈ
Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?
Easy. Looking back I enjoyed how simple everything was: I knew what was expected, there was regular feedback on performance, making friends came naturally, there were holidays and breaks to unwind and take stock.
I enjoyed learning new things – if you didn’t like something it was only for a term or so, so no biggie. It was fun to compete for the honor roll π There were fun clubs to join – I was always on the newsletter team π The start of a new school year was always exciting, full of promise. New notebooks, pencils, shoes, oh my! XD
Fun mem’ries I have …. (daydreams) …
Would you rather take a 1 or 2 week vacation with an organized tour or take a cruise of your choice?
I think there are advantages to both but I’m leaning towards an organized tour especially if it’s a first time visit. An organized tour allows you the freedom of anticipation, all you need to do is show up. If I were to take a cruise of my own choice that would mean lots of research and planning and this can get stressful.
Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~
I discovered 2 new recipes that the hubs and daughter love! Pan-grilled chicken with some fancy herbs and spices, and beef curry. Highest praises to the genius who invented ready-mixes!!! XD XD
~ and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β
An overnight stay in Singapore π Looking forward to the shopping break in routine XD XD
Not many people know that I am an introvert. Apparently, I come across as a gregarious, smiley, bubbly person. So when I tell them I have a bias for solitary activities, or that groups and crowds (and even loud, aggressive people) drain me, it’s more often a surprise to them than not.
If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?
Make that money grow through day trading and with its earnings fly off to Hobbiton and pretend that I’m a Sindarin Elf (mayhaps Tauriel) visiting The Shire π π
Where do you hide junk when people come over?
Hmmm … I usually don’t have junk because I like to tidy and organize. But if it so happens that there’s some when you come over then just don’t mind it π A little random disorganization is sexy π
Complete this sentence: Β I want to learn more about β¦
Crocheting clothes, especially shaping. And Irish crochet. And cooking. And lots of other random stuff.
Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week ~
I am always grateful that my family is together and that we’re healthy and safe.I’m also grateful the rains have started to come back π
Rainy days remind me of when I still used to work and would wish I was cozy at home instead XD In other words, rainy days make me feel grateful I am able to stay at home π
~ and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β
Finishing crochet WIPs so I can move on to other projects π I’m specifically looking forward to buying more of that local polyester yarn for some colorwork projects I have in mind. And some cherry pie with coffee …. mmmmmmm β€ β€ β€
