Share Your World – December 18, 2017

tumblr_ms6fn5R94S1qfywy0o1_400Happy Hump-day everyone!πŸ˜ƒ It’s time for a bit of fun-on-the-blog.

Please excuse the Nacho Libre gifs I’m using. I just really ❀️ that movie, it never fails to make me laugh or feel better. Have you seen it? πŸ˜€ I like to imitate the way Nacho & Esqueleto talk, never fails to elicit laughs! 🀣

Anyway, here are my answers to this week’s Share Your World blog prompt:

If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?

OMG, if this were any easier I’d burst into shards of diamond …. this someone would do the cooking, of course! 😁 I’m not that fond of cooking to begin with and now with a 2 month old I can’t even spell coooking.

If you were to move and your home came fully furnished with everything you ever wanted, list at least three things from your old house you wish to retain?

Nothing. If the new house has everything I ever wanted then I’d want everything to be new. “New” represents a clean slate for me, a chance to do everything all over again and better this time. It also means everything is still in good working condition, everything is still squeaky clean, fresh smelling and nice looking … Aahhh, the rush of endless possibilities and the pleasure of shiny, oil/dust/scratch free surfaces 😊

That said I realize I’m not really attached to any one thing I own right now. I only need my family, and then my phone, my Kindle and my laptop because these things hold pictures. If all pictures were in a thumb drive, then that thumb drive would be all I wanted to take along with me.Β  Unless the goal was to save money then yes, I’d bring as many stuff as I could because I don’t like waste.

giphy

Anyhoot …

What calms you down?

Walking. In circles. Preferably with nobody within earshot so they can’t hear the occasional word that escapes from my mouth or see the facial expressions I make as I mentally argue with myself about whatever it is that’s upset me.

Crazy, huh? But that’s me 😏

Oh, and that’s my brother too. Must be genetics.

He snaps his fingers while at it.

Ooppss … tmi! πŸ˜€

School break started this week and that means my eldest is home with me.

This also means I get to sleep past 6 a.m. (I still prepare lunch for her on schooldays). And have someone to talk to during the day. And get some help getting things done around the house. And maybe we can take a walk outside later …

Yeah, I really like it that she’s home with me ☺️

Hola! πŸ™Œ

It’s the weekly SYW again which is always fun and a great reason to stay blogging ❀️ You can join anytime by goingΒ πŸ‘‰ here.

Here are my answers to this week’s questions:

Would you prefer a reading nook or an art, craft, photography studio?

Oh definitely a craft studio 😍 How wonderful to walk into an entire room and be greeted with things that represent and inspire your creative side. I mean, merely walking into the space would probably be enough to lift your mood, you don’t even have to create. Over here would be my knitting and crochet corner, over there would be my aromatherapy stuff (I’d make it look medieval because it’s kinda like mixing magic potions & such 😁).Β  And there’d be my potted plants strategically positioned here and there …

Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report. (For example, partly cloudy, sunny with a chance for showers, etc.)

I’m partly cloudy but sunshine is breaking through.Β  I want to be completely sunny, but I’m sleep-deprived and flabby, so … Just keepin’ it real πŸ™„ Oh and there’s definitely a chance for showers because I also feel weepy, they call it post-partum blues and it just sneaks up on me out of nowhere 😭

If you could witness or physically attend any event past, present or future, what would it be?

Image result for funny baby memes

Hmmm .. I’m stumped on this one πŸ€” Sorry but right now all I can think of is a date in the (hopefully) near future when everyone is sleeping beautifully through the night and I no longer look like a cloud 😁

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Β Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.Β

I’ve been feeling down about my shape recently. When the husband takes pictures of the baby I always want to be out of it because I look so … round 😟 I mean, I expected this of course but I’m like, dear God, will I ever get my former glory back? And when?

On the local E! channel, I saw a snippet of an interview with an Asian celebrity/model. She was talking about her life and stuff but I wasn’t really paying attention because I was noticing instead that she still looked flabby in spite of giving birth about 2 years ago. She was wearing a lot of make-up to contour her face to look slimmer, she was still very beautiful, but her face was undoubtedly plump. She wore black and hid her arms with strategically placed jackets, and throughout the interview there wasn’t a full shot of her, it was always just from the waist up.

And seeing her that way, knowing that she gave birth about 2 years ago already, put me in a better mood. I mean, she’s practically living in the spotlight and she’s still carrying excess lbs. So why be so hard on myself?

I felt so good I gobbled up 2 McDonald’s apple pies immediately, in one sitting! 🀣

😬 😬😬

I need a plan!

I’m baaa-ack! 😁 Or at least, I’d like to think so. My world is still upside-down what with our 1-month old baby – but she’s absolutely the cutest so she has VIP pass to do so 😘😘

Sleep-deprived me (or is it, I? πŸ€”) however, have been missing blogging, so I thought I could warm-up via this week’s SYW. (By the way, you can participate in the fun πŸ‘‰ here).

If you were having difficulty on an important test and could safely cheat by looking at someone else’s paper, would you do so?

No. If the test were that important then I’d rather find out through failing that I lack mastery on the topic & do it over again.

What things in nature do you find most beautiful?

Verdant blooms, mysterious forests, bewitching bodies of water, fierce rains, noisy thunderstorms, gay rainbows and the wide open sky.

Complete this sentence: When I travel I love to….

Watch & soak. Most people want to take pictures and I’ve tried that, but found that it takes away from the experience of being in that place and enjoying the moment. So I usually just take a few pictures as souvenirs and then sit in a cafe or someplace public and just watch what’s going on. I love it! 😍

Oh, and buy keepsakes of course! πŸ˜‰

I absolutely appreciate my husband and eldest child for being so supportive of what new moms go through – sleep deprivation and its not-so-pleasant effects.

My eldest, who enjoyed 10 (yes, ten!) amazing years as our only child, has gracefully accepted the fact that there’s a new baby in town. We thought at first she’d act up as she never seemed that excited while I was pregnant, but she’s been very sweet to her little sister instead, and helps out whenever she can.

My husband takes over without prompting upon coming home from work and on weekends, and is always ready to pitch in during night feedings (we supplement) or when the baby is just fussy.

Being in a foreign country, I certainly do not have the luxury of friends and family to call on for help when I need some time off. This does bother me but I get a second wind each time I think of how wonderful my eldest and husband are to me and the baby. I feel very blessed indeed πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Now how about you? πŸ˜ƒ

Hello sexy people! 😎 It’s Share Your World time again and … I might skip the next few after this as I’m expected to give birth this weekend πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— Wish me luck and do send me your warmest, most positive vibes πŸ˜πŸ’“

If you were given the opportunity to ride in a helicopter would you go?

I’m scared of heights. But I did pay for a short helicopter ride when I was still single. I think I was still dating my husband then and you know how it goes, those love-hormones messing up with your brain like that … I even wanted to learn how to fly a plane at the time!!! 😱 Imagine that!

Anyhoot, the experience was absolutely exhilarating! It was one of those tiny choppers, seats 4 (maybe 5) including the pilot, and had glass walls (do you call them walls?). Imagine that! 😱

And now back to the question – no, I would not go. The love-hormones are in check now, thank you very much! 🀣🀣

What are some of your favorite type of proteins to eat? (meat, seafood, eggs, soy, cheese, nuts)

Cheese all the way!Β πŸ’˜ Although right now this question makes me think of my terrible heartburn & indigestion. I like eggs as well but they too have been giving me heartburn and indigestion lately.

What would be your preference, awake before dawn, at dawn, or awake before noon?

Awake before dawn or at dawn. Early mornings are my absolute favorite part of the day πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Β Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.Β

This video πŸ‘‡ Although it’s still quite early for me to worry about aging and how to cope with it, I do like to learn from those who’ve gone before me. However, the one thing that really stayed with me was her story about how, when she and her husband were out on a date, and they both saw this woman of about the same age as her sitting at the next table, she asked her husband if he found that woman to be attractive. And he said “yes”, because she’s (that woman) happy.

This blew my mind! Because yes, absolutely! You can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if there’s no happiness in those eyes of yours, or if your “perfect” face and features look empty or cold or passive, then you’re not truly beautiful. You’re just nice to look at. So give me a happy person any time of day, she will always be radiant no matter what 😍

Then there’s this blog post:

Boredom: It Takes You To Places

I mean, how this dude used boredom to develop a slew of impressive skills is absolutely motivating! I recommend you give it a read πŸ‘

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

I’m not an outdoorsy person but I πŸ’–, πŸ’–, πŸ’– just being under the night sky.

Every evening sometime after dinner or right before turning in for bed, I go out and just walk in leisurely circlesΒ  while contemplating life.Β  I stop to stare at the moon if there is one, or the stars, or I follow the lights of a passing airplane and then resume my circles while appreciating the peace and calm that envelops me.

At first I used to worry about what the neighbors would think because I’m not exactly walking for exercise or anything, just slowly going about in circles πŸ˜€ But after a while I assume they get used to it and move on to more interesting things 😁

I feel confined if I am not able to do this activity regularly enough.

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

Image result for funny images about driving

Passenger. I hate driving 😐 I have consistently answered this question “what would you buy if you won the lottery” with “a driver” for many, many centuries now πŸ™ƒ πŸ˜‰

If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be?

Hmmmmm ….

Ok, in no particular order, they’d be ~

  • I’d give birth today, effortlessly, smoothly, safely, quickly … I’ve been feeling really fed up about the sleepiness, indigestion, heartburn and bricks-for-feet lately (among other 3rd tri woes πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™)
  • Everything I need to order online arrives by the end of the day, shipped absolutely free of charge
  • I’d know how to speak Indonesian like the locals

A recipe for an easy-peasy Microwave Nutella Mug Cake! 😍

Can you say “instant blockbuster“?! πŸ˜† I don’t even have to call them to the table once the mug cake’s done, and I’m never met with a “no” when I ask if they’d like me to make some πŸ˜†

I just knew I hit gold when the hubs came home with vanilla ice cream last night (for topping), and the daughter volunteered to make it when I said I was feeling too tired for it πŸ€—

It’s super quick and easy to make, and the house smells divine to boot! Win!

foam party

I love this week’s SYW questions ❀️ Here we go:

Complete this sentence: I want to learn more about …

  • Aromatherapy and how I can use it at home. I’ve already finished an online course but it seemed to have just skimmed the surface.
  • Gardening, particularly container gardening, taking care of flowering plants, herbs. And by extension, making terrariums. One at a time of course πŸ˜„
  • Photography. I’ve put this off for ages and ages now. This one’s probably for next year considering I’m about to give birth.
  • Cooking/expanding my culinary repertoire. I’m afraid this one’s reached emergency status now.Β  I keep cooking the same 5 or so recipes and relying on take-outs for variety.Β  (My family’s been very forgiving because I’m pregnant and all). Then I got really bored with my recipes and my yen for cooking just went out the window as a result. So I’m seriously thinking about this and WILL BUY AN OVEN. Because, can you believe it? I’ve NEVER even owned an oven in my entire life! 😱😱😱
  • Close on the heels of previous bullet point – baking!
  • Crochet – Filet, Irish, tapestry, thread, and creating warm weather garments.
  • The Indonesian language. I’m gonna give birth any time now and perhaps the only word of relevance that I understand is “dorong” (“push”) πŸ˜…. I also took an online course for this – which was actuallyΒ  pretty good – but the problem is the retention. I’ve since observed that I retain more if I learn the words that I need at the moment – like when I have to ask the housekeeper to do something. My brain just won’t give space to something I don’t need. In addition, there’s a notable difference between the Indonesian you learn formally vs. the Indonesian actually spoken.Β  Another reason I prefer to learn from the housekeeper 😁
  • Basic sewing. So I can make my own sassy pillowcases & curtains and anything else that’s just a rectangular piece of fabric with just a little embellishment ❀️❀️

On a vacation what would you require in any place that you sleep?

Comfortable bed & temperature. No noise. No lights. No unpleasant smells.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Online shopping and having it shipped via DHLπŸ“¦πŸ“¦. Although this one’s straddling the fence between extravagance and necessity because this has to do with our present location.

For instance, when shopping for clothes, my 10 y.o. daughter has to look in the adults section already. Never mind me and my husband. Finding comfortable footwear is difficult at best, so we’ve taken to buying ours in Singapore. Last night we couldn’t find self-rising flour in the grocery department of their biggest, most recognized as high-end, mall. I mean, maybe they ran out of it but that’s my point, there’s not one single place where you can safely say they have everything, sometimes you have to explore other stores in search of an item and even then it’s hit and miss.

There are no English books here so I have to have them shipped from Amazon/Book Depository. I buy our supplements online as well, all the maternity clothes I’m wearing ….

I wish I’d bookmarked it! It was an article from a homemaking blog that talked about the reasons why the author makes herself up even when she’s just at home for days on end. That piece really spoke to me because I have been wallowing in frumpsville for the longest time now – thank goodness nobody from my previous corporate life can see me! 🀣

She made all the right arguments, including the very true fact that it sets a positive tone for the day and makes you more productive.

So now I take my showers in the morning before breakfast, get out of my sleeping clothes into nice daytime wear, swap my glasses for contacts, fix my hair, wear liner, lipstick, earrings and perfume 😁😁😁

Well, that last part might be overkill but then again, why not? 😘

Share Your World – September 11, 2017

Howdy sexy people! πŸ‘‹

I’ve been under the weather this past week – cough and colds but, fortunately feeling better now πŸ˜ƒ Glad to come back to the blog with this week’s installment of Share Your World.

Would you want $200,000 right now or $250,000 in a year? It’s safe to assume all money is tax free.

Right now so husband will have fun making it grow through his day trading.

Is it more important to love or be loved?

Oh good, it only asks which one is more important, I don’t have to choose between the two πŸ‘ ☺️

I think to love is more important as long as you love from a place of giving and not from sacrifice or with the expectation of returns. If love is freely given like this, there is happiness and contentment that is independent of external circumstances.

I also believe that if you give love, love comes back to you as well.

List things that represent abundance to you.

Money (I mean, hey, just being honest here πŸ˜‚Β πŸ˜‚).Β  If you have money then you basically have the ability to take better care of yourself and loved ones.

I would also list having (a) family, true friends, good health of course, freedom, safety and being able to live where you feel the happiest.

What inspired you this past week? Β Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.Β

Oh, I got a few really nice blessings this week:

  • I got a visit from 2 good friends (from Batam) who happen to be pregnant too and we got a good laugh out of it.
  • My daughter had her period, which was a surprise to me because she’s only 10. I thought it was a good time to talk to her about how babies are made and well, at the end of the talk her reaction was an emphatic “eeeeeeuuww! GROSS!!!” πŸ˜…Β  I’m just gonna savor that for now 😁
  • I got a long distance call from my best friend from home and it did wonders for my soul. It’s very difficult to maintain friendships when you live far far away and already a few have sorta gone cold. Fortunately this one has endured till now and hopefully we can keep the bond strong ❀️
  • One of my plants is coming up with blooms! Yay πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒI’m not too hopeless after all πŸ˜„
  • My stomach is giving me some relief from indigestion and acid reflux. I still need to be careful, but I’ve been able to sleep better. I tell ya, ya haven’t known misery until ya’ve experienced the tantrums of a 3rd tri pregnant woman’s tummy 🀒🀒🀒

Now what are YOUR answers? Write in the comments or better yet, join the funΒ πŸ‘‰ here. We’ve got plenty of room for you πŸ™‚
