Adam is 92% finished ⭐
But needs to be unraveled 😢 😢
I know!
And I was SO looking forward to beginning a new knitting project!
I am working on the neck portion now and asked the husband to do a fitting last night. Everything else fit (beautifully, I might add), except the underarm portion 😤 😤
Adam follows the pattern Joukahainen and is a pdf download from Ravelry. See the hot stuff here:
It is a raglan sleeved sweater worked from bottom to top, so I don’t think there was any way to have done an earlier fitting that would have properly exposed the tight underarm portion.
I’ve been racking my brains for ways to salvage the project. But since stitch count influences the tapering of the raglan sleeves, which in turn affects length of the yoke portion, short of claiming Adam for myself, I see no other plausible option but to unravel, add more stitches and just basically start from stitch zero.
I’m a little teapot short and stout! Here is my handle and here is my spout! When the water’s boiling hear me shout …
My husband really likes Adam though and I don’t want to claim it for myself because I already have Eve.
Tip the handle and pour me out!
Allez – I am going to put on my big girl panties and unravel the thing and start from the very beginning.

But maybe not today. Today I deserve CHOCOLATE! 😉
So meanwhile let me regale you with a photo of bat droppings in my beloved reflection place (but they obviously weren’t partying hard last night):
You do know I like to tease you, right? 🤣 ✌️🏻 ✌️🏻
I think you deserve huge kudos for knitting a sweater to begin with! I see you putting your love in every stitch. 🙂
Enjoy your chocolate. Sending blessings and lots of joy your way,
Debbie

I know! 😦 But it’s okay. I want to do it right and I’m relatively new to knitting so I need to be brave 😉

You are already far braver than me! I can’t knit, I don’t have the patience for it…I make it through about six knots before my ADD kicks in. ;). And eve is awesome!

Awww, thanks! 😀 ❤ Well, when you're sorta confined in the house every day you develop patience by necessity (I think) because I NEVER saw myself taking on sweaters. But here I am! XD

Eep! That sucks! Maybe find a top down pattern to try first? That way you can make the Adam at a later date and have that against the top down to compare? Or something? Or check on Ravelry and see if anyone has suggestions before you frog it. Good luck!

Thanks but … too late! I just finished unraveling it But it’s okay (although such a pity), I think the additional stitches will solve the problem. Good thing it’s a relatively easy project, can’t imagine if this involved colorwork

lol ah well, next time 😉 Good luck!
And yeah, add in colorwork in that mix and I’d probably be a sobbing mess 😉

Oh no! Adam has to be undone? Well, I hope it will go smoothly the 2nd time around. Chocolate is definitely deserved! And yuk on the bats!!!

Yep, unfortunately. Thank goodness it isn’t a complicated project, no color combinations & cables & such. I am in no particular hurry and I do think the second time around will be a success 🙂 Thanks, Ginny ❤
And the bats! I don't know if their morning 'surprise' is a gift of affection or what but must they do it to my favorite spot in the entire house?! 😦 😦

Oooooh! how frustrating! I do feel your pain. Heck, I think it’s wonderful you’re exploring the world of knitting, a world where I fear to tread. And, if you have to do it all over again, just think of how much you’ll have learned… (um, yeah, I know… have another chocolate). Isn’t it great that you have no deadline to meet for this project?

LOL! XD I do remind myself it’s all for the love of learning the craft – and then I stuff mouth with a handful of chocolate coated almonds for each lesson! XD XD
I’m just grateful it’s only a simple project, no color combos & such. I don’t want to create something that won’t be worn because of some minor thing I still have time to correct. At least, I’ll give it one more try before I call it quits (or else gain so much weight)! XD XD
Good luck with the hat! ❤

Awe, that’s a shame… Better to unravel and do it right, though! 🙂 💜 ❤
